Car Donations in California

I have been jobless for almost a month and now that I got two jobs coming up… I am gonna need transportation out to them…. is there a local charity that will donate a car to me?

If I donated the car to charity, I understand that I will be given a tax voucher for refund. What amount will I get? Since I cannot afford to pay monthly car payment, I didn’t bother to go for the cash for clunkers program to get a more gas efficient car. Instead I am going to give it away. Please give advice on how I can make the most out of the car that I want to get rid of. I can no longer afford to pay gas. I cannot sell the car. It would cost so much money to fix it and not worth it. It is a 1998 VW Jetta. It is the worse car in the world.

I have a school project, which is donating money to the unicef project. I can’t do a car wash because my sister did that and she never actually did it. I have 11 days for this. What should i do???

I looked onto cars.gov to look at the requirements and then went to fueleconomy.gov to see if my car met the requirements. I have a 1996 Mercury Cougar (6 cylinder) and it gets a combined 19 mpg according to the website. I doubt it gets that much, but the requirement is 18mpg or less to be eligible. I was wondering if anyone has been successful in getting the voucher even though their car is slightly over the requirement. 10 points for best answer. Thanks!

What is the best option for my money? I have a ‘94 Toyota Corolla, with a damaged front bumper, grill, fan, radiator, and hood. Every thing else is in working order, and I’m wondering if I should sell the car off for parts, or donate it for the tax break. What do you think my best bet is?

My problem is this…… my credit is terrible; therfore, I’m not eligible for a bank loan.
I’m looking for a private investor, but all of the so called investors and websites are full of scam artist.
I have already been offered a prime target venue location, and I have a great business plan available for review.
I’m really passionate about this project that I have sold all my personal belongings to raise capital( car, furniture, etc.).
Does anyone have any valuable serious advice on how I can raise start-up capital?

what if you give charity to poor people at the gas station who clean your car windows and you give them money, how can you document that properly to the irs?

Heres the story of an idiot and car…

I needed to buy a car asap and for cheap. Through a friend I found a 92 probe (130,000 miles) and bought it for 650 after a friend of mine (who i THOUGHT knew about cars said it wasn’t a bad deal)

Within days of driving it I find that it needs a new fuel filter (fix about 400-450) and it needs 4 new tires. That is all i KNOW that is wrong with it. Right now it sits in my apartment parking lot needing that work plus an oil change. I am very broke right now and won’t have the money to fix it for awhile.

Should I
a. try to sell it for ANY amount as is
b. fix it, its a good car in the end and worth it
c. donate it and learn my lesson
d. some other option I don’t know about

If your answer is get rid of it can you offer any advice on someone with little money and NO car knowledge buying a used car (even a good place to look for one).

Need a Van. Have 6 children one of which will be going home on a ventilator and I need to be able to transport him to and from medical appointments.

The car has been insured under my name for over a year but the car has been registered to my mother for that same amount of time. Can we purchase the vehicle under both our names and still qualify for the government rebate?

Neighbor who found her, the vet who fixed her, her babysitter and everyone who came to visit her, all my friends and family who helped pay for her surgery…need a witty thanks from her. I think I have writers block lol. She was hit by a car out front the house. She had a cast on her leg for 2 months and it did not heal. No choice but amputation because it was going to cost too much to fix, the vet fixed it for almost free. She has 4 legs instead of the planned 3. Sending a card with a pic, just need a note from her but don’t know how to phrase. Needs to be in her words…Please help.
