Can I Donate A Car In California With Out Its Title? (i’ve Lost The Title, The Car Is Still Running….)?

My son has a 1992 camaro rs, however, we need to get rid of it, i’ve been asking him for over a year to get rid of it, but he just says “next week”. Finally im through, im getting rid of it.
IMPORTANT
He has lost the title, and the car failed to pass smog, but is still running. Can I donate this car with out a title?
Any information would be very helpful.
I live in california.

    Just go get a duplicate title. They couldn’t resell the car with out it and there wouldn’t be proof that your son owns the car.
