I got my car, 3 weeks ago and i could not afford an EVO’s insurance (it would of been $352/month, onlly cause its my first car and im 16) is there a way you can take a 2.4 cylender GTS it was the top of the line basic lancer… can i make it an evo by throwing the right turbo in it? If yes, please explain what would need to be done. Thanks.
Can you make you 2009 Lancer GTS into an EVO?

You have to cheak the aftermarket dealers to see if they make compatible body kits and turbos for your car since your car is really new. The hard part is trying to convert your car into an all-wheel drive like the EVO.

Throwing a turbo in will NOT make your engine the same as the evo x engine AT ALL even with aftermarket parts as of now… maybe only 250 hp, thats it, with turbo and $10000 of aftermarkets. Research on google or on this site and wiki and you’ll see why.
You can make it very similar look by installing the EVO X complete look-alike kit from accolade bodykits(nearly $2500 and limited!). But performance and handling wise… its going to be a lot of money $$$ for the engine, suspensions, wheels and tires, brakes, making awd(biggest $$$), drive train, laber, and did I forget to mention $$$?. So you’ll end up spending the same amount of money as buying a true evo x gsr or even worse… pay more money.
Especially, because its your first car and you want to drive one of the fastest car in history and your so so young. I really recommend NOT to even bother thinking or buying it or even going close to it. Just a very helpful tip from experience.
But overall, if your going to be like an evo x with the bodykit conversion running around and letting nearly stock civics burn you all the time its totally up to you at the end…
