I have prostate cancer and my treatment is: Hormone Therapy and External Beam Radiation. Is my blood OK to use for what ever purposes blood banks use it?
I can’t help any other way at the moment and wish to continue helping others. Prior to my cancer I would do volunteer work. Now I am too tired to do the physical work I used to do. Even driving my car has been too much.
Thank you everyone, it was so silly of me to think I could donate.
I was recently in a car accident and had my life saved by means of a blood transfusion. The doctor told me that donating blood was vital to saving my life and I should consider it in the future as a way of giving back. I told him I would and Im a man of my word. A couple weeks ago I put a couple gallons of my blood into some ziplock bags and put it in the fridge. The next day I took the blood down to the hospital and they told me they don’t accept blood donations. Now if that dont make a lick of sense. Thats like a church not accepting money. Anyway I was wondering if you guys know a place that does accept blood donations?

I don’t mean organ donation from patients who have died, I mean living patients. Would you support a law requiring people to give their non-essential organs and tissues to people who need them in order to live?
For the purpose of this situation, assume that those for whom the surgery or loss of organ/tissue/blood would be deadly or extremely dangerous would be exempt. Only people whose life depended on it would receive organs. Assume also that there would be no compensation, except, perhaps, that the government would cover the cost of the surgery and medical care before, during, and after the procedure.
Why would you support this? Why not? Would you support it under any circumstances? (For example, if someone causes a car accident that destroys another person’s kidneys, should the person who caused the accident need to give up a kidney so the injured party has one, be it through an exchange program or a direct transplant?)
What about blood? Should people be required to give blood on an ongoing basis to sustain the lives of others? Plasma? Bone marrow?
Thanks.
I’m really enjoying reading all of your thoughts. I obviously wouldn’t support this law either, but I wanted to see what people at large thought. I am rather surprised that there’s nobody out there who would support this.
Sorry it’s so long; I wanted to make sure I was clear about the hypothetical situation. Thanks for your patience.

if a 3 year old child had a car accident and had lost a lot of blood and the only way to save the childs life was to give the kid some blood would you let the kid have a blood donation or would you make the innocent child die because of a religion it probably doesnt understand?
Can I donate blood without my donor card at the Red Cross? I have an appt today but I left my card in my brother’s car and won’t have it until Thursday. I don’t have my driver’s lisence either. What if I take my birth certificate or something?
I have a 4 1/2 month old American Staffie and I would love him to be a blood donor for other dogs who might need his help. (Such as a dog who gets hit by a car and need surgery) I don’t know how to get him started and I want to start young so he gets used to it!
Donate at KCRA 3 For Life blood and marrow drive and receive a coupon good for a pint of Baskin-Robbins ice cream and a special KCRA 3 For Life commemorative T-shirt.
This is a video of our “Hotlap”, which turned out to be TWO laps, with tops speeds of 110 MPH, at Infineon raceway, (Sears Point), that we got for donating a pint of blood. Good deal!!
Joseph Nieto received a blood transfusion after a car accident twenty years ago. Now he donates blood regularly and would like to see his two sons follow in his footsteps.
A pregnant Betty was involved in a serious car accident and required urgent blood transfusions to save her life. Betty is alive and well and went on to have 4 healthy children. This is her story.
this is my first solo vid, no appearances by missmoxie911 lol, just me being random, talking about donating blood, hugging trees, playing in fake snow, you know the usual
