Car Donations in California

Jaguar cars offer a factory tour of its castle bromwich factory , its a 2 hour tour and is based at Chester Road, Castle Vale, Birmingham, B35. I go to the charity young carers and have been asked to look for some trips out for the group, and therefore would need to know the cost of this trip

So I started this thing, we make jewlery, bake, and have car washes. Then we donate the money to cancer research. What is a catchy name that I can call this fundraiser? Make it rhyme! ;P

I am thirteen and setting up a car was, bake sale, and a raffle for my community and wanted to donate to a (or a couple) charities with good causes…

Disease does not hinder my family or anyone close to me…

I was watching a special on dateline NBC on child trafficing . I have child myslef and i find this sickning and i would like to start a charity to collect monatary donations to put together care packages for my church to send over seas to some of these orginazations that help out these kids. I am in in the military and have been over seas 2 times and i have been approced by kids before when i have gone out on missions where kids would tell you that you can have sex with little girls for 10$ i was disguested.Dose anyone have an idea how i can collect a large sum of donations and please dont suggest a bake sale or car wash. Being that i work full time and am in the military

Does anyone know of a Military charity in SE Michigan that takes used car donations where the Vets get the car to sell for parts and get to keep the money they make from it? I have a good used car that I would like to donate to something like that. But only if the vet who gets the car gets to sell it for parts and keep all the money they make from it. Please give website or phone number if you have it. Charity Orgs only please.

Some friends and I have had a crew / car club for years. However it was mostly just hanging out and chilling. now that we are older and some members have or are planning to get motorcycles. we are moving more towards an official auto club. We have desire to return something to our community by starting charity events and the such. We have support but we’re trying to get away from the street crew image and a real club. we have our logo and some local merchants on board to help us (making the patches and such). we are NOT a 1% oriented club and truly wish to benefit the community. However, we haven’t looked into it yet, but we see it hard to do charity events (collecting donations and such) without going through some channels to take care of taxes and such. Also to be official so someone feels better about donating to a real club insted of just a bunch bikers or people in tricked out cars. any ideas to pursue this path are appreciated thank you.

Yea, thanx alot Halfass, you were REAL helpful, being a “real” biker. We are not trying to be a biker club per se, but have support of both family riding clubs and the dominant 1% in the area. get your head outta your ass and don’t reply if your not going to help. thanks again to everyone else who answered. but like I just said the community is reaching out to us right now. hopefully we will get established soon.
BTW I didnt mean bikers wernt real clubs, I only ment that from a civilians pov. an established club is prob easier to believe would take the money you give and put to a good cause rather than a bunch of guys on harleys or tricked out cars claiming to be a club

I’d like to but I find it harder everyday to justify giving my hard earned money away while paying 32% Fed, 4.085% State, 1% City, 6% Sales Tax, 4% Property tax and countless other ‘little’ taxes(gas, phone, vehicle registration,etc).

I only thought of this since St. Judes AND Susan G. Komen have sent me requests for further donations. I don’t blame them for sending the requests really, I mean it’s always worked for them before.
But as I sit here and view my property tax bill and the inevitable IRS forms I have to ask;
Should I really be giving additional money away for people that are asking that MORE BE TAKEN ANYWAY?

Your Obamacare isn’t going to get passed. I hope your kids don’t get sick since I believe I’m not the only one who is disgusted with this.(Didn’t Shriners just shut down a couple of FREE hospitals?)

Even if Obamacare did pass, who do you think is going to do research to cure Breast Cancer? I hope your wives, daughters and mothers don’t get sick.

So should I really donate to those who in turn would just demand that I pay more anyway? Oh and don’t even get me started with “it’s tax deductable”…….if you really crunch the numbers you will find that even though you claim it the savings is VERY little on your taxes.
Blessed, why don’t you email your reciepts of charities you’ve donated to. i’ll compare them but I’ll bet my butt that you WON’T EVEN COME CLOSE.

Good evening everyone.
Recently with the holiday season and what-not, I have been recieving numerous phone calls asking for donations to charitable organizations. This has become rather bothersome and I wish to recieve no more phone calls from them.
I recieved one last night just after I had finished my dinner. The man on the phone mentioned that fact that I make ungodly amount of money and that I had not yet contributed to the United Way.
I became enraged as the man went on about the good of their organization. I stopped his midsentence and explained my situation to him. It just so happens that I have an invalid mother who requires very expensive surgery once a year just to stay alive. Also, my sister’s husband was killed in a car accident last year and she is raising three children with no means of support. And to top it all off, my brother broke his neck on the job and requires a full time nurse to live any kind of a normal life.

I don’t give any money to them, so why should I give it to the United Way?

Because classes were off this week, the PTA had a Family Fair on the school grounds to raise funds for a local child who was in a serious car accident.

So I took our two children to Family Day, and it was set up nicely. There were Chinese auctions, a dunking tank and a three-legged race pitting parents against kids.

Because my wife is an attorney in the middle of a big federal trial, she couldn’t attend, but that was okay as I was able to still participate in the three-legged race with our au pair (we came in second — to my kids!).

What bothered me was how few parents actually took time out of their days to do this charity event. I say, tops, there were two-dozen parents and kids there from a school that has 400 kids! I’m a well-established local artist and did donate one of my works to the Chinese auction, but noticed it only gathered about 50 tickets. The lady who won it got a steal!

While I know many parents, like my wife, work hard, why don’t more help the needy?
