I have a lot of stuff left over from a moving sale (clothes, toys, car seats, etc.) and would like to give them to an organization that will take them to the Galveston area for the people affected by hurricane Ike. Anyone know of any? Thanks any for leads.

I am a 22 yr. old that cares for two small children. I am on a very tight budget. I finally saved enough for a cheap vehicle, which has fell apart in less than a month. It was an as is sale, I should’ve taken someone with me, but no one I know is mechanically inclined and Ididn’tt have money to pay a real mechanic.Any-whoo, I am writing to find out if there are any places that donate vehicles or accept small payments. I have tried craigslist but itdidn’tt work. I don’t have a problem riding the bus, I just would prefer not to have these babies on the bus. I am in Michigan. I appreciate and welcome all suggestions.

i wonder if people even know what there giveing. even signed prints are in the thousands. my advice is if you are going to donate a painting at least do minor research on the internet, because you may be gveing away something worth more then your car

Tax deduction from donations – restrictions on where to donate to?

My company has about 10 old computers that we want to get rid of, and we figured it’s better to donate them than to just throw them out – and our accountant says we can get a tax deduction from the donation.
We found a private business that said they can draft up a “donation receipt” for us for tax purposes, but they are not a certified charitable organization.
If we give our computers to them, would we still be able to get a tax deduction from the donation, just from the “donation receipt”?
I like to clarify that there are 10 (TEN in number) computers, not 10 YEAR old computers.

I am a single mother of 4 and was wondering if there is anyone who wouldn’t mind helping me through tough times.

I’m in a financial bind and my friend was telling me that her 25 year old sister was in the process of donating her eggs and that she was receiving $7000.00 for it. I could really use that money for my apartment, car payments, etc. If anybody has ever done this or know of someone who’s done it, what are the qualifications and where can I go to fill out an application to see if I’m eligible?

You’re right, I have no children yet, but at the same time, I’d also be doing it for the people who want to conceive and can’t….so I view it as a win win situation. I do love little kids and I don’t think there’s anything morally wrong with helping a family out that’s in need as well as helping myself out in the long run.
