Car Donations in California

I have a school project, which is donating money to the unicef project. I can’t do a car wash because my sister did that and she never actually did it. I have 11 days for this. What should i do???

Build the Future in Johannesburg is in need of a truck or van to transport missionaries from their hotel to the work site, pick up donated items and drop them off, transport food for soup kitchen. Currently using the family car and it is taking alot of wear and tear running in and out of squatter camps all day long.

I am in college and struggling to get through pre-med and pay my bills. I have a job and all, but it’s just not cutting it. My car’s tires have ZERO tread on them. The mechanic said it was unsafe to be driving, but I have to get to and from work and school. It’s like driving on intertubes. I’m afraid the first time it rains, I’m gonna end up in a wreck. I can’t avoid it forever.

My parents can’t help right now, so I was just wondering if there’s a program or something that could offer some help.

I donated blood the other day and i was perfectly fine during the donation. They had me sit down for 10 minutes and eat and drink something. I felt great! I got in my car and I felt 100% fine. I was pulling out of the parking lot and suddenly got EXTREMLEY faint. I knew i was going to pass out because I’ve passed out before. I pulled into another parking lot, parked my car, and tried my best to call my boyfriend so he knew where i was. My fingers were too weak to push the keys. I suddenly started sweating profusely, i opened my car door and without warning, threw up all over the parking lot. Then i got faint again. So i sat on the curb, i couldn’t stand up, i suddenly had diharrea, and my mom had to come pick me up and her and my brother had to help me get in the car. I was breathing really heavy. This lasted for about 45 minutes. Is this normal? I’m concerned. I’m wondering if i’m pregnant now too, I hear you get really sick if you donate blood when you are pregnant.

so i need help of thinking of a creative way to raise money to help people with cancer.
well i was thinking of
1)make a creative piggy bank and ask for donations(like a basebase ball with a whole in it to put coins it-but it has nothing to do with cancer)
2)something like a dare…like shaving my head….but i dont want to do that because im a girl.

so any ideas.other dares or anything else you could think of?besides the regular bake sale,car wash, or garage sale.

also im 15 if that helps?

I hate to come here and..ask this. I really do. I am looking for a LEGAL, LEGIT, website where I can post a “profile” about my financial situation. A website that WORKS. And, as much as I hate to say it, one that does not require..payment to post or request for a donation. I know that sounds cheap, however, if I had the money to pay for a site, I would not be here asking now would I? So, let me make it clear. I don’t have the money to pay to post any sort of profile on a site.
I don’t have much of anything to sell to get this money. other than my car and I NEED THAT..to move.
I don’t do credit cards. They are more trouble than what they are worth.
And don’t say the words “get a loan”. That’s just as bad as getting a credit card.
I don’t do drugs, I don’t drink every night, I don’t go out and party. I am honest and hard working. I just need help, everyone does in life. Not enough money to go around.

The Jena 6 ( Bell and Bailey) expressively have used donated money for the legal defense to purchase new cars, furniture and take trips … Bailey posted his picture on myspace.com with a large sum of money.

Here is my problem, I donated a car to a charity that is able to get a tax credit of at least $500, but we did not work in 2009 we lived off of my husbands disability check all year. So we are not supposed to file a tax return on disability. So how can I go about getting that $500 for the donation? Is there a form or something that I can send in just for that??

I get, on average, 3 calls a year from local and State police organizations seeking donations. In return, they offer to gladly send me a car window decal to show my support.

When I ask them, “can the decal be used as a ‘get out of a speeding ticket’ bargaining chip?” They usually answer, “doubtful.” I then respond, “my donation is doubtful as well.” Click…

BREWSTER — A Mt. Kisco man who was arrested by New York State Police this morning for allegedly speeding and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol is an illegal immigrant, police said.

State Troopers Robert Lombardi and Christopher Esposito pulled over the car of Jose M. Arias, 25, around 2:10 a.m. this morning for allegedly driving 100 mph on Interstate 684 in North Salem, which has a posted speed limit of 65 mph.

Police say that Arias was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol and is an illegal immigrant. While attempting to put Arias in custody, police say he became combative and struck both officers. While being handcuffed, police allege Arias bit Lombardi on the left hand and forearm, causing bleeding. Lobardi was later treated and released from Putnam Hospital Center for lacerations and abrasions from the bite.

Arias was eventually restrained and taken into custody. Police say he has been charged with felony assault in the second degree, felony assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, DWI and other charges. Republican State Rep. Russell Pearce said he was unaware of an e-mail sent by a supporter who used the shooting of Phoenix police Officer Nick Erfle to try to raise money for the lawmaker in a possible run for Congress.

Charlie Powell, an outspoken foe of illegal immigration, sent the e-mail last week to dozens of people.

“The City of Phoenix is a Sanctuary City for illegals and what thanks does it get?” the e-mail read, in part. “One of its policeman is killed by an illegal. One thing you can do to protect your family is to contribute money for the election of Russell Pearce who is the driving force to move the illegals out of our communities.The e-mail asks donors to send contributions to the same post office box Pearce lists on his exploratory committee’s Web site, www.pearce2008.com. Powell could not be reached for comment.

On Sunday, Pearce said that Powell, a longtime friend, should not have used Erfle’s death to make the point that illegal immigration is a problem that must be dealt with. Pearce said he found out about the e-mail from a Channel 3 (KTVK) reporter.

“Charlie Powell is a good patriot who thought he was doing something good about a bad policy,” said Pearce, referring to a Phoenix policy that prohibits officers from telling federal immigration officials about most encounters with undocumented immigrants involving minor offenses, though police detectives partner with federal immigration officers to investigate smuggling crimes, home invasions, gangs and other violent activity.

“It’s shameful that we would have policies that would harm and hurt police officers.”
