Donating mostly shirts and sweaters to Goodwill. How do I determine how much I can include as a donation to charity for each item when I do my taxes early next year?

I have not donated the items yet, but my experience has been that they give you a blank receipt when you drop off large amounts of clothing.
How do I know how much to put on this receipt is, I guess, what I am asking?
My clunker qualifies so I want to trade it in for a Honda CRV. But my credit is like 500 and a family member with FICO 800 wants to cosign but he is out of town until next weekend.
So is it possible I could go apply for it since I heard it takes a week for them to get an answer from bank and government? Then when they decline a loan I can get the cosigner to cosign for me next week.
Oh and I have $10,000 for downpayment including the clunker rebate.
remember, its a PARKING TICKET, not a Moving Violation like speeding, illegal u-turn, etc

Dealerships have been selling a lot of cars for the past month. Many people with old car in their driveway came in and trade for car with more fuel friendly. Car dealerships across the nation selling more cars than 2 months ago. GM, Chrysler and other manufactures say they will make more cars and more jobs to meet the demand for CARS program. My questions are What will happen next to car dealerships and manufactures when the Cash for Clunkers end? Will consumers buy cars and dealers sell more and manufactures make more cars?
i have a 2000 mercury sabe the car still looks showroom condition but it as a lot of miles on it i just picked up a 2007 nissian altima and decided not to trade in mine as it wasnt a lot id get or it but my acctountant said i may want to donate it to use against my taxes is tis a good idea and where should i donate it
