Predictably, auto sales went off a cliff after government stopped transferring wealth from non car buyers to car buyers. Politicians all over the place cheered Cash for Clunkers as a wildly successful program even after all of the wealth (used cars) it destroyed. People with brains of course knew better than to call Cash for Clunkers a success.
Now with auto sales off a cliff, where are those politicians today? Strangely silent.
