I have a ‘94 Toyota Corolla with +200K miles on it that was T-boned on the side. The car is not worth fixing as the Blue Book on it is no more than $800 in good condition.
I can try to sell it to a scrapper or donate it to a non-profit. The non-profit will give me a tax deductible receipt and supposedly give me a free hotel stay somewhere. See here http://www.kars4kids.org/donate_car_vacation.htm. Has anyone done this, or have you heard anything about it?
I work for a non-profit so I have a soft spot for them.
Should I try to find a buyer, or just get it towed for free and donate it?

I have a truck that qualifies for the cash for clunkers program. It has moderate front end damage. It still is drivable but looks bad and needs a lot of work. It will cost more to fix it than the truck is worth. Can I trade in a badly wrecked vehicle that still drives?
Peter, Joe and myself decided to rip apart peter’s old POS car. THis however, was done prematurely because now peter Has no car because he can’t afford to fix his new one. On top of this, he has tu…
So long story short I totaled my car. I rearended somebody because I’m an idiot.
Anyway, the damage is mostly to the radiator, and possibly the front of the engine, but I would like to donate it like I did my last car. My dad took care of that one as far as organizing where it would go. I believe he sent it to the American Heart Association, or something along those lines. However that car was not wrecked, it was simply old and unsafe.
I guess my question is if anyone knew if an organization like that would take a wrecked car to part it out or something?
